A romantic piece of American tableware with just the right amount of old-world charm.
This vintage plate was made by The Harker Pottery Co., one of the longstanding names in American ceramics. Founded in 1840, Harker began in East Liverpool, Ohio, and remained part of the American pottery story for more than a century. The company’s wares were known for their durability as well as their decorative appeal, and pieces like this reflect the more graceful, formal side of mid-century tableware.
Finished in a soft ivory glaze, the plate features a sculpted gadroon edge highlighted with 22 KT gold trim and a central courting-couple scene in period dress. The imagery has a distinctly Colonial Revival feel, making it as decorative as it is functional. It is the kind of piece that works beautifully layered into a table setting, displayed on a wall, or styled on open shelving.
A lovely find for anyone drawn to vintage American pottery, gold-trimmed tableware, or pieces with a quietly romantic presence.

This vintage clear crystal jar is covered in deeply faceted geometric cutting, with alternating diamond, crosshatch and star-like motifs that catch and scatter the light. The matching lid continues the pattern and rises to a tall, jewel-cut finial, while the bottom is finished with a particularly beautiful multi-point starburst visible through the interior of the jar.
Covered crystal jars like this were made as decorative serving and storage pieces, used for everything from candies and sugar cubes to jewelry and vanity essentials. The form draws heavily from the long tradition of Bohemian and Czech cut crystal, where clear glass was transformed through cutting, engraving and polishing into highly reflective decorative objects. Czech crystal production has roots going back centuries, and by the 20th century the region had become especially well known for both hand-finished and commercially produced table and gift crystal.
The geometric cutting, substantial walls, faceted finial and star-cut base are especially reminiscent of Czech crystal giftware made during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Royal Limited, for example, sold very similar 24% lead-crystal candy jars made in the Czech Republic around 2001–2002. Yours may come from the same general tradition, but because I cannot see a maker’s mark or label, I would list it simply as vintage cut crystal rather than make an unsupported attribution.
It’s an easy little object to repurpose: candy on a bar cart, rings on a vanity, matches beside a candle, or simply left empty where the cut glass can do all the work.

Very good vintage condition based on the photographs provided. The crystal appears bright and clear, and I do not see an obvious major chip or crack. Minor surface wear may be present from age and previous use.

Produced by Sterling China in 1977, this vintage vitrified china compartment plate was created for Piccadilly Cafeteria and its young diners. Three divided sections feature wonderfully simple black illustrations of an astronaut, a rocket, and planets circling the sun, finished with a graphic black border around the rim.
Piccadilly referred to these as its “Satellite Plates,” serving children's meals on specially designed compartment plates and advertising them to its young “junior astronauts.” Period advertisements document the Satellite Plate program from the 1960s through the end of the 1970s, and a 1975 photograph taken inside a Piccadilly Cafeteria shows one of the distinctive divided plates in use.
The reverse is stamped “STERLING Vitrified China, East Liverpool, Ohio, U.S.A.” along with the factory code M-3. Sterling's surviving production records identify M-3 as the date code for April through June 1977, allowing this particular piece to be dated unusually precisely.
Heavy, glossy, and originally made to withstand the daily rhythm of a busy American cafeteria, the plate now feels like a wonderfully preserved artifact of the era when space travel had found its way into everything from children's television to the dinner table.
