Lenox Butterfly Meadow Small Metal Serving Tray, No. 6192314
This vintage Lenox Butterfly Meadow serving tray is formed in silver-tone metal with a deeply embossed garden scene of lilies, foliage, and a butterfly at the center. A continuous raised vine-and-leaf border follows the scalloped oval perimeter, giving the entire piece a dimensional surface rather than applied decoration.
The tray belongs to Lenox’s Butterfly Meadow collection, designed by artist Louise Le Luyer and introduced around the turn of the millennium. The original collection centered on butterflies, dragonflies, bees, and flowering plants, and Lenox later expanded the pattern beyond porcelain dinnerware into coordinating flatware and metal serveware.
This specific form was sold as the Butterfly Meadow 9-inch Small Metal Serving Tray, identified by SKU / MPN 6192314. Surviving examples with their original retail labels identify the piece as Lenox Butterfly Meadow metal serveware and as Made in China. Product records also identify the silver-tone material as aluminum/metal.
The small scale made it suitable for candies, nuts, hors d’oeuvres, jewelry, or other tabletop use, while the raised Butterfly Meadow decoration allows it to function as a decorative tray when not in use.
Condition
Good pre-owned condition with visible wear consistent with age and use. The metal surface shows fine scratches, scuffs, rubbing, and areas of finish variation throughout, particularly across the broad interior surfaces and raised decoration.
The underside shows additional surface scratching and visible residue from a former label. The embossed Lenox maker’s mark remains clearly visible. No obvious major bend, crack, or structural break.
